My name is Samantha Swanton and I am from Saginaw, MI. I am currently a senior at Wittenberg and plan on graduating in May 2012 with a BS in Biology with a minor in Marine Science. My caving endeavors began my freshman year when I placed into the Wittsem "Into the Unknown" with a man called Dr. Horton Hobbs. After our first caving trip to Carter...the rest was history. Besides caving club, I am a captain of the cross country team, laboratory teaching assistant for Biology 170/180, member of Beta Beta Beta, and a member of the university honors program.
Please contact Sam at {president@wusscavers.com} for general caving questions, WUSS's schedule, or miscellaneous matters.
My name is Kristen Shearer. I am a Wittenberg senior and will graduate in 2012 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Studio Art, and I plan on working in the stream ecology or fisheries science field in the future. I've been in many clubs during my time here at Witt, but for now I'm involved with WUSS, Herpetology club, and Tri-Beta. I enjoy hiking and fishing (and other fun outdoorsy stuff) and curling up with a good book.
Please contact Kristen at {editor@wusscavers.com} for general caving questions, Pholeos submissions and equipment usage.
Hi! My name is Samantha Heaston. I am currently a Wittenberg sophomore, and plan to graduate in 2014 with a double major in geography and sociology. I am from Arcadia, OH, and really got interested in caving after visiting Seneca Caverns (which was then further fueled by WUSS trips). Around campus I am also involved in Astronomy Club, Roleplaying Club, and am a university honours student. Even though I work as a librarian, I love to spend time outdoors, and am really excited about our growing group.
Please contact Sam at {secretary@wusscavers.com} if you have a question about the minutes.
My name is Kayla Potter. At the end of the school year, I'll graduate with a double major in Sociology and International Studies and minor in Japanese language studies. Eventually, I hope to live in Japan and teach English for a few years before returning to the US for graduate level coursework in peace and conflict studies. On campus, I'm involved primarily with WUSS and YoungLife Student Ministries, but from time to time I also get involved with American International Association. I spend my summers working in the outdoor drama industry. I love to be outside and can't wait for all the adventures WUSS has in store for the semester!
Please contact Kayla at {treasurer@wusscavers.com} if you have a question about dues, membership status, or WUSS clothing.
